Rebozos have many purposes. We use rebozos to support and rhythmically shift the body to promote comfort and ease during pregnancy, birth and in the postnatal period. Historically rebozos were used during the time of the Mexican Revolution as an essential part of the typical Mexican costume. Today this garment remains a part of daily Mexican costume.
I was first introduced to the rebozo by Gena Kirby during one of her Flock Yeah workshops back in 2016. Her love and passion for families and how the rebozo can be utilized to support and nurture during birth was mind blowing. The knowledge she shared about her culture and the rebozo has been invaluable to my own understanding of the woven rebozo.
These Rebozos are authentic, sourced directly from Mexican and Guatemalan families, who ensure that these rebozos are made ethically.

Guatemalan Rebozo
These Guatemalan rebozos are made with thread blends of silk and cotton. Local artisans, who own their own textile business have woven these with love and dedication. One rebozo takes 3-5 days to be woven. The artisans are ethically treated as well as, being fairly paid for the rebozos they customize.
Rebozos are used by doulas, midwifery, yoga and baby wrap carrier slings.
Washing instructions: Please wash either by hand or on a hand wash cycle in the washing machine to avoid tangling the fringe.
Size: 274 cm long (plus a 10 cm fringe at each end) by 48 cm wide.

Diamond Rebozos
These 100% cotton rebozos are manufactured in Mexico, which is known for its textile tradition. Since 1970 Ruth and Sabino have owned the family run business where they source the wools and dye for their hand dyed and woven creations.
The fabric is sturdy enough for it to be used as a baby carrier as well as, for rebozo techniques during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. It also makes a beautiful scarf or shawl.
Washing instructions: wash by hand or on a hand wash cycle the washing machine to avoid tangling the fringe.
Size: 310 cm long (with a fringe length 20 cm at each end) by 60 cm wide.
